PERMISSIONS POST

Alright y'all, here's the scoop.

OFF is a game that takes breaking the 4th wall to a whole new level. Zacharie is a character who is not only fully aware of his own role (as the merchant in a video game), but also speaks directly to players and has knowledge of things outside of the game (e.g. Read Me files in the OFF game folder). That means in Entranceway, he'd know that he is controlled by a puppeteer and has the full ability to communicate with you, the mun.

What about, you ask?
Maybe he just wants to shoot the breeze. Maybe he'd like to hear your thoughts on the newest plot. Maybe he'd like to let you in on some secrets (for a price). The possibilities are endless, and with Zacharie, things are only going to get more surreal as he adapts to the game.

How will he contact me?
There may come a time where plots will dictate him to communicate with players on other OOC methods of communication (AIM, plurk, e-mail etc.) but I'll direct your attention back to this post when the time comes for that (and as I get a clearer idea of what the hell I'm doing with this guy). At the moment his mun communication will be restricted only to in-game comments and PMs. This is subject to change in the future but, again, I'll direct attention back here before engaging in any other OOC contact.

Will my character be affected by this?
Ah, now this is up to you. As he speaks to a character, he might throw a casual comment to the mun. Of course your character is free to write him off as a crazy person. Or they may want to know "who the hell is Linda," but coaxing the answer out of him ICly might be trickier. (Well, unless you have like a million credits or a rare item, then he'll be a little loose of tongue.)

TL;DR COMMENT HERE WITH CHARACTER/JOURNALS IF YOU WANT TO HAVE ZACHARIE SPEAK TO YOU.

I find this to be ridiculously funny and awesome. A+ I am totally alright with Zacharie communicating with me for a plot, and even addressing me directly in game and out...assuming, that is, that it doesn't clash with the following:

I have to ask that he not address Me directly in any in character communication with Susan. Implying or being a catty, obtuse jerk about "higher powers"? Totally fine. "Puppet masters"? ...depends on the context. (And if I can have her construe it as meaning some in game force.) Person controlling You(Susan)? Please no.

This is not because I don't find it hysterical and appropriate, because I really, really do, but Susan is a bit like Shepard...except she doesn't write people off as Crazy very often (ever). She'd latch onto that idea and, inevitably, one of her major IC concerns would be this player person and that's just...too meta in a bad way.

Oh damn, I never thought there'd be a bad sort of meta.

Similarly, please avoid bringing up this general request as the reason he's not saying these things, as it leads to (almost) the same problem. (Wait, but who told you not to tell me something? I have to investigate this.)

Because, damn it'd be funny, but it would also make playing her a little more miserable. Canon puncturing her (or even Discworld in general) is totally fine, though. I'm all for it. IC and in passing.

Why do I play people who reliably beat dead horses forever?

EDIT: Wait. I read "Who the hell is Linda" and immediately my brain said you were my friend Linda. Who I RP with. Who you are not. RIGHT. Shepard is Commander Shepard of Mass Effect. As in the one who spend a series of games shouting REAPERS ARE COMING at everyone even though for like...two whole games...there was relatively no hard evidence of that. I played her for several years.
